Action/Locked to Barry

It's a sad day when Cisco can't even remember the last time he saw his best friend. They're trapped in the same time-altered city, and yet they've hardly seen each other at all in the time they've been here.

Well no more!

He sends Barry a text with a location and a time, followed by a promise of intense bro bonding. (If the time he gives Barry is roughly twenty minutes before he intends to be there, that'll just be his little secret. He knows his bro.) It'll be good to get a chance to just talk, not worrying about aberrations or alternate universes or freaking dragons. Just Barry and Cisco. Like it should be.

"Oh my god dude," he sags against his shoulder. "Oh my god his brownies are made of magic. Okay, why is he refusing to make more and how to we need to fix this because I need them in my life. Constantly."

"Right?" He asks. Finally, someone understands. "I may have eaten half the batter before it got into the oven. And then more than half of the brownies that made it out. I have a problem, okay?"

"Those are like the best brownies I've ever had." A glance around. "Even better than Oliver's."

"We have to get him to make them for movie night."

"Imma tell him you said that," he warns with a grin. Oliver Queen is a great cook, but his baking doesn't hold a candle to Mick's.

"Dude, that's the best idea ever. If he thinks they're gonna be shared by a bunch of us, he'll make them."

[chosenbylightning]

A squawk as he smacks him on the arm. "Dude! You're not the one he's been known to shoot in the back." Seriously. If he gets shot, it's totally on you, bro.

Barry glances around for Barney before nodding. "I think that's an awesome idea. We're gonna need a ton of food anyway. Think we could talk Bart into using the Tower? He sounds like he's got a mess of space in there."

He laughs, shaking his head. "I won't say anything," he promises. But he will absolutely hold the threat of saying something over Barry's head for his own purposes.

"Yeah, we can do that," he agrees. "So you, me, Mick, Bart. Caitlin if she's interested. Would you be okay inviting Savitar?"

Mention of Savitar has the smile faltering, but only for a moment. "Yeah. I mean.. if he's okay with me being there." Because whle Barry might want to make this work - he also knows it isn't an easy thing for either of them to deal with.

.. never mind if they're both conspiring against Cisco via speedy texting. That's different.

"You're my best friend, man. And I think...I think he needs some of that." To keep him from being what he became in their timeline. "We can always bail if things get awkward."

"If things get weird I can back off," he volunteers. "I think it'd help him if he had people to count on. Stay grounded, you know?"

Cisco nods his agreement. "I think you're right. I think he needs friends." And Cisco is gonna make it his job to be that for him.

"And I can think of nobody better than you." His best friend in this or any version of the multiverse.

A warm smile. When he remembers everything he'd lost over the last few years, he always tries to remind himself of what he'd gained. The best friend he'd ever had.
