Does anyone know if there's a such thing as a care of dragons database outside of this version of STAR Labs?
[Caitlin is sitting in the medical lab and on the table next to her in a nestle of blankets as a very banged up red, scaly whelp no bigger than the size of a small puppy with a very weak pilot light on the tip of its tail. She reaches and caresses along its back, clearly concerned for it]
I found this little guy outside on my way here, he looks like he's in bad shape.

Date: 2018-02-13 08:43 pm (UTC)His pilot light is weak and he barely takes some of the roasted chicken I got for him. Is there anything else I can do to help with it?

[She goes back to caressing the poor thing along its back as it sleeps, curled up.]

.. he hopes.]

Maybe you're more of a red meat eater.

Date: 2018-02-13 09:27 pm (UTC)[And about twenty minutes later Mick is letting himself in, a bundle under one arm to find Caitlin and the little dragon snoozing in a pile of blankets.
Mick pulls off his gloves (no small thing for anyone who may know him) and takes a breath.] Here goes nothing.
[He remembers what Savitar taught him, breathing easily as he summons the fire within him. It doesn't explode outward so much as slowly cascade out towards his hand and his fingertips.
With luck the extra heat will rouse and soothe the baby.]

Date: 2018-02-14 02:30 pm (UTC)[The intensity of the heat picks up, brighter flames licking along his fingertips. His shirt catches fire and Mick gives an annoyed grunt. Seriously, he's gonna run out of clothes at this rate.]

Date: 2018-02-14 02:45 pm (UTC)[The wee dragon however, raises its head and sits up a little straighter, the pilot light on its tail growing and steady until it stays lit for a while. The whelp chirrs sweetly and snaps its jaws at the fire coming from Mick's hands.]

Date: 2018-02-14 02:59 pm (UTC)Or the gun show.
Mick takes a beat, doing his best to ramp up the heat a little more as the dragon seems to respond to his fire.] Looks like that's what he needed after all.

Date: 2018-02-14 03:08 pm (UTC)Good job, hothead.
[She doesn't care about the scars and hey, Frost can appreciate a gun show.]

Date: 2018-02-14 07:31 pm (UTC)[It takes a few moments for Mick to try and bring the flames back under control before they gutter and die, leaving nothing more than a red-orange glow beneath his scars.
He peers at the dragon who seems to be a lot happier after getting some extra warmth.] Try giving it a little red meat. Those are sharp looking teeth.

Date: 2018-02-14 07:35 pm (UTC)Thanks, Hothead. Any luck on that control thing? Now that you're one of us?

Date: 2018-02-14 07:37 pm (UTC)He's just.. different now.
A roll of a shoulder as he picks up what's left of his shirt, sticking his fingers through the holes.] What do you think?

Date: 2018-02-14 07:49 pm (UTC)Dragon's got living flame on the end of his tail, didn't take much of a leap to think he needed more warmth.

Wouldn't just throw that ability out. Could even help you control that fire thing.

Date: 2018-02-14 09:22 pm (UTC)Mick goes looking for some of the meat he'd found and not already given to the other hatchlings he'd discovered following him.] Here. Feed him that, but in small doses. Little ones alway got eyes bigger than their stomachs.

Date: 2018-02-14 11:04 pm (UTC)Got it, small pieces of red meat for the little guy. Keep him warm. Anything else, son of Berk?
[Well, it's not Hiccup]

Date: 2018-02-14 11:35 pm (UTC)Very funny Frost.
But the little dragon seems to have perked up with some additional flame and a bite to eat.] Keep him warm, lemme know if he needs another fire bath.

Thank you, Mick.

Date: 2018-02-15 01:19 am (UTC)No, really.
Mick watches the color return to her hair and to her skin. Huh. Interesting. The last time he hadn't had a chance to appreciate the transformation.] S'okay.
Just keep an eye on the little spark. Let me know if he needs more fire. Give it a few days and I'll get you a fire pit built if he needs them more often.

Date: 2018-02-25 06:46 am (UTC)Thanks. I'll keep an eye on his vitals and temperature and let you know if he needs another fire bath. I think he'll be all right.
