"Have you seen my place? It's supposed to be in San Francisco Bay," Bart points out. "And I'm the only one there."

He shrugs a little. "I saw hot dog vendors on the Great Wall the other day."

"Oooh, hot dogs." Could she sound more interested?
Maybe not. "We should get something to eat, too."


It's been at least half an hour. It's totally time.

"Pizza would be better." Than hot dogs, he means.

"Are you against hot dogs? What's wrong with you?" Bart had to ask. "They're a nice, portable snack. Pizza tends to be a little slippy sometimes. Especially New York pizza."

But yes, he's totally seconding the food. "I'm always hungry, just so you know."

"Or we could have both. And, me, too," Kara adds easily enough.
"I haven't really had time to look through all the restaurants yet."

She's usually pretty busy with the whole task of helping report on anything that looks like it's gone or come in from as high as anyone around here can get.

Savitar pauses. "Hot dog stuffed crust pizza?" If that doesn't exist, he'll honestly be angry.

"That sounds disgusting," Bart said, making a face. "I never got the idea behind messing with pizza."

"It exists," Kara says, throwing the words over Bart toward Savitar. Or Sam. Or Savitar. That's going to have to be a thing she figures out. It gets a flicker of uncertainty wobbled in her smile, but the smile tries not to flag. Looking between the two of them. "On my Earth, at least. I don't know about here."

"I love pizza. It's one of my favorite foods." Reason to enough to have found the oddest and most interesting things people could do to pizza in a city sometimes. "They're bound to have something around here, right?"

"We could get the kind with hamburger patties on it as a topping." Sorry Bart, but he kind of hopes you hate that too. He's...not entirely nice. SORRY.

"Meatballs are more likely to cook evenly, though," Bart points out, frowning. "It's, um, just not really worth it to me to mess with one of the best foods ever invented. Well, maybe when you do the white pizza or like a barbecue pizza. But trying to mix two perfectly good foods together just because you can? Ugh."

"They don't do that where you come from?"
Kara looks a little surprised, if more curious than that.

People on Earth seemed to find new combinations for everything that already worked all the time. There were always new variants and mixtures on things. New takes she'd never thought of. It was sometimes just as delightfully inspiring as it was exciting to never truly run out of new things to try on top of old favorites.

"If your future doesn't look for new food combinations, I don't even know what to tell you." He gives Bart a strange look. "How do you find new things to eat."

"I didn't say they don't look for them. I just find most of them almost as unappetizing as my mom's cooking. The woman can make stuff come out of a replicator burnt," Bart said.

"The Legion especially is huge on trying to reinvent lost things from the 21st century."

That is a name she does recognize and if it sobers Kara's smile a little, it's not entirely.

"Were you part of The Legion?"

Savitar has no idea who either of you are talking about. "I thought they were called Legends?"

"I'm not a member, but Jenni is, my cousin. And I have other friends on that team. I haven't seen them in a while, though. Not since Brainy screwed up and had to get me and Kon to the future to...never mind." On second thought, mentioning Superboy-Prime and his death and Conner Kent would probably be really a bad thing.

"It's more that they're from my birth-time, for all that I've spent more in this century."

He does have a tendency to just skip things, or choose convenient half answeres, doesn't he? Kara can easily field the question though as they are walking, but she starts wondering if it's just a continuation on everything he's already shown as his choices in all of this, slights and overabundant reactions with no fair sympathy, or if it's just his age.

"The Legends are from here and now, and your Earth, and The Legions are from the future. We've been working with them back home recently." Sort of. Not exactly working. Working was the wrong term. Finding them in stasis. Finding Mon-El. Finding Mon-El's wife.

Working on figuring out how to even start to go forward working with that.

"I know who the Legends are." He's still not entirely clear on who the Legion is, beyond apparently someone there is named 'Jenni'. "You say these names like I'm supposed to know who they are."

"The Legion of Super-Heroes, they're the 31st century's version of the superhero team-up. Young people from all over the universe joining forces to stand up for what's right," Bart said, shrugging a little.

"They started in part because of Superman, and his legacy."

[iamsupergirl]

"What?" There is the look of shocked denial, and even a little slight.
Familiar lack of comparison. "No."

"They said it was because of--" The word me almost slips out. Almost. "--Supergirl." It's always a little strange to talk about herself in the third person, but after three years of having to for Cat, Snapper, Lena, and a small endless parade of passing people the pick up is easier. "That her heroism and idealism was what they'd founded their mission to keep peace on Earth and in the stars from."

It wasn't easy back home, but it didn't mean she wasn't listening.

He's more inclined to believe Kara over Bart. "Your cousin can't go five minutes without getting brainwashed because his 'mind is too human'. I'm sure that it is made in your image."

Only a slight narrowing of his eyes shows Bart caught the slip, and Savitar's lack of concern over secrets.

"It's a different world. I don't really know Kara Kent back home, other than she's not quite as unflappable as her cousin. I'd blame the time spent among the Amazons, since Cassie has some of the same anger issues."

Kara's still in the middle of making a face at Savitar that's baffled disbelief edging into a flash bright moment's almost anger for saying exactly what she didn't, who she was, that she was Supergirl, while he just dropped it out there with the annoyed aplomb of most of the rest of his words, when one of those random assorted details from Bart stops her, wrinkling her face more --

"Kent?" Like Clark?

Not that she had a single bad opinion of Matha or Jonathan,
But like she's been raised with the Kents, instead of the Danvers?

The idea was so foreign, and a life without Eliza, without Alex.
"That's not my last name. It's Danvers. Kara Danvers."

It had taken a long time to get used to, and
she was very attached to it now.

He would simply point out that if Bart really is from the future, it's unlikely that he doesn't know she's Supergirl. If he said anything at all and didn't just simply take the anger directed at him as yet another sign of Not Belonging Anywhere.

Yeah, he doesn't have issues at all. What gave anyone that idea?

"I'm increasingly sure you're making up things about your world, Bart Allen."

"I've never needed to lie, my life is already unbelievable," Bart deadpanned.

He didn't know what else to say. "Still, growing up without regular helpings of Ma Kent's famous apple pie? That seems almost tragic. Up there with missing out on Joan Garrick's butter tarts."
