Well...first Grandma Iris had to break me out of the lab they had me in...

You probably don't want to hear that part, though. Really, it was a lot of practice and fine-tuning. Some of it's instinct, still. But I did have to learn to know how fast I am at any given instant and a lot of physics.

[He pauses, a light coming into his eyes.]

We should do target practice. Isn't shooting one of those male bonding experiences grandpas tend to do?

Y...es but my grandfather never took me shooting.

Actually, he took me once and that was enough for him to decide not again.

I'll remember to stay out of the firing line, then. Clay pigeons or skeets are a good way to get the hang of blast-type abilities. I did it with Kon when his heat vision suddenly showed up. Tossing targets for him to hit.

Trust me, I'm not going to put a gun in anyone's hands voluntarily.

And I can throw any projectile I choose at supersonic speeds. I can't think of anyone I know of with powers who can't use them in pretty awful ways, but isn't there some corny thing from television about knowing being half the battle?

[Yes, Bart may have actually watched more than one corny 80s cartoon. Just because he had to try to figure out what those common references people don't think about.]

Sure. I guess. As long as I don't have to clean or cook. I've never done it, and, well, some of my friends are part fish.

Living in Atlantis or Sub Diego kinda requires being able to breathe underwater, but it's more teasing and shorthand. But Lagoon Boy totally makes enough fish jokes to deserve it.
