Guys I Think We Broke Time

Cisco has been on cloud nine about this movie night, thrilled to death that he'd found the perfect venue for it. They had both put in plenty of time in the kitchen beforehand and Mick is at the snack table setting up the last of the food. Brownies, empanadas, various other snack foods. Beer, wine, anything anyone could possibly want to drink.

But if the speedsters are wanting to eat till they're full they had better be bringing more food.

Right now he's got a beer in hand, watching Haircut engage one of the other dragons in a game of tag in and out of the chairs.

He's stumbled into one weird-ass life but so far? It's not been that bad.

Cisco is the happiest he's been since before the storm. All his friends are going to be together, watching movies and just spending time together. Good food and good company are his idea of a perfect day. The event is a bit bigger than he'd originally anticipated, and he'd been sure to apologize to both Mick and Savitar for that. Neither one of them are big on crowds, and while he wanted them both there, he also didn't want them to feel pressured. Since Mick is beside him helping set up the snack table, apparently he'd decided it was worth it to come. Cisco can't help being a bit proud of him for that.

Haricut and Pascal nearly knock him off his feet as they run past, and Cisco laughs as he sets the last container of empanadas on the table.

"Pascal really likes picking fights with dragons twice his size," he says, shaking his head. Fortunately it's all in good fun, but his little dragon needs to learn to pick his battles.

Mick doesn't like crowds as a rule because when it comes to conversations? He's not that good at it. But Cisco had thrown himself headlong into planning this event so he could at least be a decent friend and show up, right? Right.

Besides, food and beer and Cisco promised him at least one ninja movie.

A snort as the dragons race by, chirping and trilling in their fun. "Yeah, wonder where he coulda picked that habit up from."

"Hey," he protests, bumping his shoulder against Mick's. "I only pick fights I know I can win. Or get away from."

That's about the lyingest lie he's ever told, but his smile is bright and confident, so maybe Mick won't call him on it.

Mick just answers that blatant and bold-faced lie with a Look as he shakes his head. "Mhm. You keep telling yourself that."

A glance around the theater as it fills up. Red and Savitar, Wells and where he goes Glasses can't be far behind. Frosty and..

"Why does Robin Hood look like someone just kicked his dog?"

Rude. Mick can't possibly know he's lying. He's stone faced. No cracks here.

At the comment, though, Cisco turns his attention over to Oliver.

"Oh. That. He and Caitlin kind of had a thing, and then Caitlin started second-guessing everything and called it all off before it could get started."

Worst. Liar. Ever.
Almost as bad as Red.

Still, Mick lets him think he's had him over. Not like it's gonna hurt anything, right?

Nose crinkle. "Huh. Doesn't seem like either of them to just walk on that kinda thing."

"Yeah, they're being stupid," he says, clearly frustrated by them. "They both really like each other. That should be enough."

Caitlin only is here for Cisco's own good. She's setting up the dampeners with Harry and has every intention and plan to walk back out and go back to STAR Labs. Maybe hide in medical for a little bit. Maybe a lot bit. Ever since that patrol, she had been in a relatively anti-social mood herself, staying mostly either at STAR Labs or her own apartment. Or babysitting Barney.

The white Frost streaks had gotten more and more frequent, despite Caitlin trying her best to ignore them or tell Frost that she's fine and not that scared or angry or even otherwise, emotionally distressed.

As soon as she finishes the set up, she moves into the party as if nothing suspicious is going on. She wants to see her friend happy, especially after all that he had gone through and Mick? Mick made him happy.

"Hey Frosty." Something is clearly up. She's not quite Frost and not quite the Doc judging by the white streaks in her hair and the way she's carrying herself. Stiff, guarded.

.. a hell of a lot like Snart on bad days.

"What's up with you? Pilot's been over for fire baths every other day."

As soon as he mentions Pilot, Caitlin frowns a little, worried.

"He has? I could have sworn I kept the fire bath lit for him at STAR Labs and that he had plenty of red meat to eat for meals."

She's tense, she knows it, but Caitlin hopes that she could pass it off as her normal self rather than anything being wrong.

"Maybe, but he's been unhappy," he points out. "Wrestles with Haircut before getting a bath and heading to hang with Robin Hood," he jerks a thumb over to where the dragon is curled up on Oliver's shoulder.

Neither of them look particularly happy.

"I ain't seen him this unhappy since Red's engagement party."

Someone else from her time period? He probably means Barry and Iris' rehearsal dinner.

She does feel a little bad that Pilot had been commuting back and forth between them. Sometimes with Oliver's notes. Caitlin had taken those notes and set them on the desk that she had. Schroedinger's note. If she never opens them, she wouldn't need to face a let down, right? And she had meant to ask Oliver when he was from. But that sort of thing was too strange to just randomly bring up.

"What happened at the party?"

"Robin Hood must've gotten all sappy or something stupid like that," he shrugs. "Party all but ended when his girl yelled for everyone to hear that she didn't wanna marry him, now or ever."

Should he have mentioned Oliver's humiliation or Felicity's upset? Probably.
But Mick isn't what you'd call discreet.

"Haven't seen him look this gutted since."

"She what?"

Caitlin's eyes widen at the admission. No, certainly the last she had heard of anything or done regarding the big wedding was just returning from the Bachelorette Party from ~~Amunet~~ Hell. But ruining her friends' happiness by shouting out loud for everyone to hear? And with how discreet Oliver is?

Frost all but roars to life and Caitlin goes to sleep.

"Was pretty loud too. Brought the entire thing to a halt for a minute or two." Mick shrugs as he reaches for another empanada. "So what's up with you two anyway?"

What? He may as well ask Frost and get a more direct reply.

From:

"Us two? Nothing. Him and Caity? She's playing that game where she gets to conveniently hide away."

Frost snorts and steals the empanada right out of his hand.

"Thanks, hothead."

From:

He shrugs and gets another for himself. "Mhm. Seems like him and the Doc got some unresolved issues and the dragon don't like it." Although Frost's appearance does get the attention of first Pilot and then Oliver himself.

"Or maybe the unresolved issue isn't between Caitlin and Oliver." Frost gives a shrug. "Pilot is one of those caring types. So maybe he picked up on that little shoutout. And wants Oliver and Felicity to kiss and make up. Ever think about that?"

She glances over to where the drinks are, then back at Mick.

"You really wanna talk about this right now?"

He shrugs. "You don't buy that any more than I do. There's a reason Doc was goin' white without any sign of a threat around."

Aside from Mick poking at things he should probably leave well enough alone but..

"Besides, if that was the case, Pilot would be going between Robin Hood and her, not Robin Hood and you two."

"And here I thought you all liked me for my sunny personality," Frost replies easily. "Pilot hasn't met her yet so I would think that he would want to ask us to help him communicate with the right humans." She really thinks that it all could be easily resolved.

"Besides," she says as she takes a bite out of an empanada, "I read your book, too. When are you going to talk to Cisco?" she drawls, glancing over his shoulder at the meta in question.

"What book?"

Sorry Frost, he's totally going to play dumb on this one because as far as he knows, nobody has keyed in to the fact that he'd written that book. The only person that should know is Cisco and if Cisco told the Doc? His roomie was gonna wake up bald.

"Well?" She's going to blatantly ignore his question. "What's going on between you two? Might be a lot more interesting to hear it right from the source instead of hearing other people talk about it. Heard he was right by your side throughout the whole mess we just went through."
