Unexpected Reading Material!

Buck Manly was adrift. He had been ripped away from his home and from his busty alien queen. But all was not lost. In his new city he'd found a striking alien prince, Zien who was swiftly winning over Buck with his brilliant mind and flowing midnight locks and smiles that reminded him of a sunrise.

Buck wraps his glistening biceps around his alien prince, pressing his lips to his, tasting the warm salt of his dusky skin.

This wasn't his home, but perhaps it could be.

[The chapters come in fits and starts, Buck Manly on his next great adventure. Nobody can track the source, but the chapters become a full fledged book with solid science and detailed world building.

[She had been logging the information gained from the radiation sickness when she hears Pilot screech quietly at her comm device. She wrestles the device away from her lab assistant]

What do you have here?

[OH. Caitlin looks around to make sure no one is looking before she opens up the book and reads about Buck Manly and the alien Prince--Her eyes widen when she realizes who Prince Zien could be]

Oh my god.

Cait, please tell me you've seen this!

[He'd seen the book earlier today, and after reading it (twice) he had to see if anyone else had found it. From the look on Caitlin's face, he'd say the answer was yes.]

[snowandfrost]

[She nearly jumps when she hears him. She's that engrossed in it. Pilot is rolling, laughing at her surprise when Cisco asks]

Have you?

Yeah, I just finished it. It's amazing, right?

[He doesn't even tease her about being startled. That's how good a friend he is.]

[She hasn't actually slowed down to do things like rest yet. And now, Caitlin Snow: Actor. At first, she looks at Cisco, puzzled at why he's not opening with how the characters are obviously familiar]

It...is. Cisco, you read through it? What did you think of the characters?

They're great. Buck is such a different kind of protagonist, you know? Not all good choices and shiny back story. It's refreshing.

[snowandfrost]

Prince Zien doesn't seem at all familiar to you?

Okay, for real? Not you too, Cait.

[snowandfrost]

[So she's not the only one!]

Cisco. Really?

Barry messaged me in a huff telling me how Prince Zien is supposed to be me and Buck Manly is supposed to be Mick and that somehow means that Mick has feelings for me.

None of which is true.

[snowandfrost]

Why are you saying it's not true?

[Because she saw you, Cisco. And she rolled over that food cart just for you guys.]

Because it's not, Cait.

Look, I appreciate that you and Barry want to see me get a happily ever after or whatever, but this isn't the Princess Bride, okay? Sometimes the happily ever after is just living a good life with your friends.

[snowandfrost]

[That breaks her heart and Caitlin stands with her resolve]

But you deserve good things. Just for being you. Out of all of us...you deserve a happily ever after with your Wesley and everything.

[Except it's more Fezzik than Wesley here. She'll drop the matter for now and hugs him.]

I'll stop. Just...don't write it off, okay?

[Cisco loves his best friends. He loves that they want him to be happy. It's not every day you meet people like Barry Allen and Caitlin Snow.]

...you think there would be more books?

I really, really hope so.

[snowandfrost]

[she lets go of him and smiles]

So. How is Mick recovering?

[goodviberations]

[He'll allow that question just because he's so relieved that he's okay.]

He's a lot better. I think most of the radiation has made its way out of his system now.

[Have a grin, though, Cait.]

What about Oliver?

[snowandfrost]

[That is a relief when she hears Cisco report that Mick is doing a lot better. When he asks about Oliver, her smile fades a little but she tries to bring it back up to normal]

He's recovering as best he can. Most of the radiation also has made it out of his system by now. Everyone should make a full recovery very soon.

[Oh look. Pilot raising his head and looking around to see if his buddy Pascal is nearby.]

[Cisco's eyes narrow slightly.]

What's with the face? [A vague gesture toward her head.] That's not a happy face.

[Pascal chirps when he sees Pilot, fluttering down from Cisco's shoulder to tackle the bigger dragon.]

[snowandfrost]

[Dragon wrestling! Without setting everything on fire. Pilot gives a happy growl when he sees Pascal.]

You would think, after all these years, you'd know my happy face, Cisco.

[Still, she bites her lip, then looks at him.]

Cisco, when are you from? The last thing that happened for me before I came here is leaving the cortex with Iris and her asking me to be her Maid of Honor.

[Pascal color shifts, nearly blending into the floor long enough to get the jump on Pilot. But he's about half the dragon's size- roughly the size of a kitten- and Pilot barely flinches under the attack.]

I do. That's why I'm worried.

[She's definitely upset about something. But her question surprises him, as does her answer.]

You're- oh, man. I don't know why I assumed-

I just thought you and Barry were from the same time as me. I didn't even think to ask.

[snowandfrost]

[Pilot whips his tail gently at the general weight he could feel on him. The little flame on the end of his tail teasingly points in Pascal's direction.]

So did I. I thought everyone we've seen was from the same time as I am. I figured since you were good with Frost that you're the you that I just saw.

[She's about to admit how she feels about Oliver. She likes him, he's obviously attractive. But Caitlin bites her lip, stopping herself. A white streak starts to make its way through her hair and her shoulders sag for a moment before Caitlin straightens back up again.]

So, we just need to be careful of what we say to each other, I guess.

[goodviberations]

[Caitlin is right. They have to be careful about what they say. Especially Cisco. He's apparently the furthest in the future.

But that white streak makes him stomach twist with worry.]

Cait, talk to me. What's going on?

[snowandfrost]

[she can’t lie around Cisco.]

I forgot about Felicity and Oliver back home.

[she feels horrible for doing so.]

We didn’t really have time to catch up when I got back with the team. And here? Oliver has been so nice and he’s not so bad when you get to know him.

I...I just...need to get over whatever feeling I have that’s more than friendship for him. I guess I’m angry at myself for not thinking about my friend.

[the streak remains but it fades just a little]
