What: A much-needed conversation

Cisco has been thinking about it for days. Mick had mentioned- off-hand in that way of his when he doesn't realize what he's saying is a bombshell- that Caitlin had patched up a speedster. One with scars.

It had taken a couple hours just to even process it. Savitar. Here. After everything he and Team Flash had done to stop the guy, he was still here. Still in their lives. For a day after that, he was angry. Furious, even. He'd threatened Cisco's friends; threatened everything that mattered to him. But the more he thought about it- really thought about it- the more the anger faded. He wasn't ready to forgive him for what he'd done, but he was level-headed enough to remember Savitar's motivations. The loneliness. The solitude. Freezing him out could start the whole process all over again. And that? Cisco isn't willing to risk it.

So after another day of psyching himself up, Cisco reaches out. He can't bring himself to video chat, so he sends him a text instead.

Savitar, I think we should talk. I'll be at the park this afternoon.

And then he spends about ten minutes panicking. What if the speedster decides to murder him? But he shoves that thought away. He needs to do this. For himself, if no other reason.

So he makes his way to the park, planting himself on a free bench to wait.

"I guess we'll see." Looking at his cast. "Assuming this fixes itself, anyway."

[goodviberations]

"Do you think there's really a chance your healing won't come back?" He remembers how scary the thought had been for Barry, and he doubts it's any easier to consider for Savitar.

[vivifier]

It isn't a great feeling. It really isn't. "I don't know. My healing isn't exactly that great in the first place, if you hadn't noticed." Look at all the deep tissue scarring, for instance, Cisco.

[goodviberations]

He's noticed, okay? But he wasn't sure if it was something temporary that hadn't taken care of the scar. And it's not like he'd been in a position to ask.

"Do you know why?" he asks, curious. Don't get offended, Savitar. Cisco is too curious for his own good.

[vivifier]

He's going to try very, very hard not to be. Because they have an armistice. But there is a sigh. "I guess it probably has something to do with being a remnant. I don't know."

[goodviberations]

Cisco winces at the sigh. Was he being too pushy? Probably.

"I'm sure your powers will come back," he says, the words more confident than he is.

[vivifier]

"I don't know. I don't know how Gideon is able to take them away in the first place."

[goodviberations]

A frown. "You think she did it intentionally?"

[vivifier]

"I know she did." Which is...probably 90% paranoia and 10% actually sure.

[goodviberations]

Cisco doesn't look convinced.

"Why would she do that though? If your speed couldn't get you into the Waverider, what's the point?"

[vivifier]

"Punishment for trying? Deterrent from trying anything else?"

[goodviberations]

"Not everyone is out to hurt you, Savitar."

Oops. Accidentally heavy. Sorry.

[vivifier]

Oh, enjoy the look of bafflement that Savitar gives you, Cisco. "People and machines who literally hurt me are probably out to hurt me, yes."

[goodviberations]

People. They're talking about Gideon, but Savitar mentioned people. Damned if that doesn't make Cisco feel like crap.

"But it's not everyone. There are people and machines who don't want that."

[vivifier]

At least he's not speed-booze drunk during this conversation? It would probably end up being a lot more raw and a lot more awful and specific. "I suppose so."

[goodviberations]

He's not dead, so that's something. Point for Cisco.

"Well, I don't want to keep you from...whatever it is you'd be doing if you weren't here."

[vivifier]

Mostly avoiding people. It's what he does, right? "Sure. Of course not."

[goodviberations]

Cisco fiddles with the zipper on his sweatshirt.

"So, uh, yeah. Good. I'm glad we had this talk."

[vivifier]

There is no way on earth Savitar believes that, but: "I'm sure we'll talk again."

[goodviberations]

Whether he believes it or not, it's actually kind of true.

"No doubt," he agrees. "Um. Have a good day, I guess?" Dios mio could he be more awkward?

[vivifier]

Sure it could. Super more awkward, since Savitar can't actually speed way and will in fact have to walk away. Awkwardly.

This is what happens, when you lose power.

[goodviberations]

Cisco gives an aborted wave, almost immediately mentally scolding himself. They aren't saying goodbye at the end of a playdate, they're parting ways after declaring a truce. Get a hold of yourself, man.

He stands, turning to walk away before he hesitates.

"Uh, did you want me to breach you back to your place?" Since he can't run, and all. Though he doesn't know how far Savitar lives, so it may be a pointless offer.

[vivifier]

"Um." Does he? He'd probably have to tell Cisco where he lives, but for all he knows he and Cisco live in the same building. So.

"Yeah. Okay."

[goodviberations]

He doesn't know why Savitar accepting the offer makes him feel better, but it does.

"Alright. Where are we going?"

[vivifier]

It vaguely makes him feel better, because he was really not relishing the idea of a long walk home. Or the bus. So, he rattles off his address.
