Would you believe me if I said I was the Speed Force? Or at least, it was contained in me for a while. Half the stuff I've experienced I don't know how to explain without sounding like some kind of mystic mumbo-jumbo.
So when it was in trouble, it used me to reunite all those pieces of itself that reside in the other speedsters. Every single one across time in my world. But it couldn't halt the temporal breakdown I was suffering because of what had happened. I don't know what caused it, I'd been imprisoned by Brainiac when things started.
The Speed Force had the power, but I was just a means to an end. I couldn't have survived long enough to fix things, so it asked me to give the power to someone who could.
I told the Flash to take it and run. To not look back. Because that last transfer wasn't supposed to be anything I could survive, any more than Cobalt Blue or Savitar or Jay or any of the others did.
I think it was more because I've always been a Speedster. I'm more attuned to it on some levels. Never said it was a good thing. It doesn't care about anything except being used, really.
