It's Finally Movie Night!

This is it, guys. Finally, finally they're going to have the movie night they've been talking about for months. It's been a rough few weeks on most of them, and Cisco is determined to cheer everyone up. He'd stumbled across a 40s movie theatre- the kind that would have shown nickelodeons back in the day- and decided that it was the perfect venue for them. Plenty of room for everyone to spread out, and they could set up a snack table in front of the small stage beneath the screen.

Party time, here they come.

He really wasn't one for social gatherings like this. He's still just not that good with people.

However this is a special occasion. Tucked away in his jacket are the necessary power dampeners as well as the two remotes to activate them.

It's for Ramon and Snow's own good.

Barry had brought over a bottle of...something that he had found at one of the saloons and that he was sure is some kind of bourbon for the party. He's still not great at socializing with the others just yet either and when he sees Doctor Wells, he gives a huge wave and smile, making a bee line for the man.

For the moment Harry is waiting for the speedsters to set up the dampeners. It's not something he can do without raising suspicion and this whole mess wasn't his idea anyway.

And it's good to see Allen on his feet again, looking more like his (overeager, enthusiastic) self again. "Allen."

"Oh. I have something for you."

A watch with a glowing blue face. "You'll have to charge it daily, but that will act as a power dampener until you get things under control."

He sets down the bourbon on what seemed to serve as a wet bar and makes his way over, surprised that Doctor Wells had something for him. Barry's eyes widen when he sees what the man had in hand.

"I--" He's touched. "You really meant it." He smiles a little. "How does it work? How does it charge? Is it only by skin contact? How much does it dampen?" And there he goes, a million questions at a mile a minute.

"Of course I mean it, Allen. I'm not a complete monster." He might even be teasing. Just a little bit.

Harry waves off the questions. "Tomorrow you can come to the labs and I'll show you the full breakdown of how it works and why. For now, put it on and just relax."

He takes the watch and puts it on, fingers bumbling a little at his own excitement. As soon as Barry activates it, there's a strange sense of calm that washes over him and he beams at the older man before launching himself forward for a tight hug.

"Thank you so much, Doctor Wells."

Of course this Allen is a hugger too.
Thankfully Cisco and Barry have softened him up a tad and he doesn't go entirely rigid at the hug. There's just an awkward 'oof' and a pat on his back.

"You're welcome. Charge it once a day and take it off when you're working with your powers."

Of course he is. No one would be surprised at how much Barry is a hugger.

"Will you help me with my powers?"

"I think you want a metahuman to help you for that. The last time I checked I didn't arrive wih any powers."

Harry can try and help him, but he's not entirely sure he's best suited for it.

"I trust you. You're the only person I recognize here," Barry replies honestly. "Please, Doctor Wells, I-I'm going with what's familiar here and the only thing that is like home is you."

A reluctant nod. "All right Allen. I can't promise I'll be able to teach you, but I'll be there to help of you need me."

He finally lets him go with a huge grin.

"Thank you. Really. Doctor Wells, from the bottom of my heart," Barry laughs. "I-I-I can't believe that this is--this is--" He waves at the table. "I brought some bourbon. I hope that's all right with the hosts." He looks around to see if he could find them. He adjusts his glasses a little.

There must be something about any version of Barry Allen that prevents Harry from being annoyed with him for too long. "Don't thank me yet," he warns. "And it's Harry. Just Harry is fine."

A nod towards Cisco near the food table.
Funny, wherever Cisco is, he can always pick out Mick Rory not far away.

Idiots.

Barry looks back, his eyes widening almost comically for a moment, then a huge smile spreads across his face.

"...okay, Harry, then. I guess to differentiate me from the other Barry Allen, you could just keep calling me Allen, then."

There's almost a smile on his face in reply. "Allen it is. So let's get a drink and something to eat before the movie starts." Also because it's liable to get interesting once Savitar and Barry trip the dampeners to lock in the two couples who seem resolved to not be couples.

Idiots, the both of them.

Barry is too happy to look at his watch, turning it this way and that. He grins at Harry.

"I'll fix you a drink if you grab some snacks?" he asks.

"All right. Fix me a glass of that bourbon you brought and I'll see what Ramon and Rory came up with in terms of food."

Maybe he can get Barry to grab some on the way out so they can continue to watch a movie elsewhere while the idiots sort out their feelings.

Barry goes off to the cocktail bar to fix up a bourbon for Harry and an old fashioned for himself to at least sip on as the movie goes on. He hopes it's a good sci-fi flick.

He returns and holds out the drink to him.

A nod as he accepts the drink. Maybe they could at least get in a little of the movie before Barry and his twin decide to act. God knows they could use the decompression after the threat of the storms.

Leo was chuckling to himself as he looked over the group. Honestly he was glad he was taken because he wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of this group and their matchmaking plot. "We ready to go on this thing Wells?"

They're clearly idiots so when Savitar had come to him about getting involved and a day later both Cisco and Snow are asking him to build dampeners to inhibit the others? Harry had to get involved simply for the sake of getting any real work done.

And well. He'd been married before.

"Mhm," a nod. "I'll hand them off to the speedsters and they'll get us all out of here once they're placed."

"I'd love to stay and watch Mick pull his head out of his ass," Leo comments, "but this really the best plan. He won't make a move on his own if we don't help."
